Good thing you said it is brown (looks black and white on my screen). I tend to like warm colors with brown (like reds, corally oranges, yellows). I could see green too. I'm still not a fan of aqua/brown and pink/brown combos despite their popularity. Do you have a spot planned for it?
If you wanted to soften it (away from the sharp/crispness of the geometrics) and are thinking a solid sashing I might go with a "Sandy's solid" from one of Sandy Gervais (sp?) fall Moda lines. They read as solid but if you look closer there are subtle variations of the color. Nice fussy cutting, BTW.
The coordinating fabric from this line is aqua and pink -- hmph. I think I'm going to try the warm colors like you suggests. No spot planned for it -- just liked the geometric-ness of it.
